A true industry–NHS collaboration was recognised this year, with Kodit winning the Partnership with the NHS/Academia Award for their collaborative project with Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Edinburgh Napier University, and Imperial College London. A Wales-based software design house, Kodit develops strategic and standard platforms for the mobilisation of healthcare systems. Their product, CAREmagic, addresses specific sets of health procedures, allowing users to generate auditable proof of outcomes whilst also increasing efficiency and reducing cost. This Award is sponsored by Wynne-Jones IP.

The Award Certificate and a bottle of champagne were presented to Craig Story, MD, Kodit, at a black tie reception and dinner which was held at Cardiff City Hall on 12th December 2012.

Cheshire-based Applications Software developers Kodit are delighted to announce that we have won an ‘Excellence in Environmental Applications’ award at the Offshore Arabia 2012 Conference. The award was made based upon our work with client Oil Spill Response Limited, and was presented at a Gala Dinner held at the prestigious Armani Hotel, situated in the iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building.

Richard Sims (Middle East Regional Manager) of Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) was kind enough to collect the award on Kodit’s behalf (see attached picture). During his acceptance speech, Richard described the close collaboration between KODIT and OSRL and how Kodit’s AccuCheck Asset Management system improves the logistics of OSRL’s operations, maintenance and customs management. Richard focused specifically on how the AccuCheck system improved the company’s ability to respond to OSRL members in a more timely and streamlined manner. This was particularly useful during 2010′s Macondo well control incident in the Gulf of Mexico.

Kodit are delighted to announce that The Institute of Engineering Technology has awarded the DACAR project (in which we participated with partners) a ‘Highly Commended’ status within the Heathcare Technologies category of their annual Innovation Awards, Nov 2011.

The BCS (Chartered Institute for IT) together with Computing Magazine administer ‘The UK Innovation and Entrepreneur Awards’ 2011, and we are delighted to announce that Edinburgh Napier University (a Kodit partner in the DACAR project) were shortlisted as FINALIST for the ‘Next Generation e-Health Platform’.

Kodit gain Motorola Applications Partner status

Having gained Motorola Enterprise Compatibility certification for our product CAREMagic in February 2011, Kodit are now pleased to announce that we have transitioned to Motorola Applications Partner status, with immediate effect. Over the last few months, our development team has worked to ensure that CAREMagic and AccuCheck are Rho-elements compatible, with the aim of becoming the first Motorola Applications partner to launch cross-platform.

Kodit’s specialist, mobile-based, Patient Care solution ‘CareMagic’ was awarded the Enterprise Mobility Compatibility certification via joint testing conducted at our offices and at the Motorola Solution Centre located in Viables ,Basingstoke.

PDA Installation Files

Below are three files which can be loaded onto your PDA in any order.

Download from this web page by clicking on the link below and saving to a location on your computer.
The files are zipped (compressed) so they have to be uncompressed (on later Windows OS, just right click…….extract all )
Connect your PDA to the computer using the USB cable provided.
For Windows XP: Microsoft Activesync must be installed
For Vista and Windoes 7 you must be running Windows Mobile Device Centre
Go into Windows Explore and copy the file to the clipboard and navigate to the My Documents folder on the PDA. Paste the document there.
Do this for all three files.

Disconnect the PDA from the computer.

Go into File manager on the PDA and navigate to My Documents. Double click on the files that you have just copied and wait for them to install. If the intstallation prompts you to restart the PDA, you may wait until you have installed all three.
Finally, open Accucheck. Click on Data, then Settings and enter the name of the register and the web address of your register plus the number of your Pda.

Kodit develop the ENS Care Buddy™ System – a mobile solution for Care workers ‘at the Point of Care’.

When Eclipse Nursecall Systems (ENS), one of the UK’s leading providers of Care Communications, wished to develop an automated Resident Care system for the Care Home, Extra Care and Domiciliary Care market, they came to Kodit Database in St Asaph, North Wales. Well known as experts in the provision of market-leading mobile applications (including a revolutionary method of logging cruise ship passengers in the event of an emergency), Kodit’s recruited additional skilled staff in order to develop and support the new system, launched recently by ENS, branded as ‘Care Buddy™’.

Chris Parish, Director of ENS, takes up the story “Over the past 20 years ENS has become recognised and respected for the provision of cutting edge, robust and integrated Care Communications. We deal directly with many of the UK’s leading Care Organisations and many of these express a requirement for a mobile, touch-screen device that can record all elements of each visit including carers name, duration of visit, the care delivered and a simple method of staff to record additional duties or significant comments. We wanted a system which would not only provide immediate resident/service user data in a dynamic, on-the-spot fashion, but would also synchronize automatically with the resident’s Care Plan database. We have therefore created a comprehensive, dynamic, electronic Care Plan with clearly assessed residents needs/requirements and outcome monitoring.

Our solution will log any significant changes/topics which were raised during visits by care staff, and provide billable data at regular intervals.

Shared consciousness of real-time care notes is essential if care workers are to keep abreast of the changing health stages of their service users. Care Buddy™ offers a simple-to-use, secure, web-hosted solution for this service.

Within a relatively short period of time, Kodit were able to provide this system, which we are confident of supplying into major Healthcare Organisations in the very near future.”

Kodit client assists in Deepwater Horizon incident

One of many specialist companies engaged to combat the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico is Kodit’s long time customer Oil Spill Response Limited. They are assisting BP and the US Coast Guard in the response to the major oil spill from the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig.

Oil Spill Response Limited utilise Kodit’s Accucheck asset management system to track equipment and detergent used worldwide in this and similar incidents.
