Kodit develop the ENS Care Buddy™ System - a mobile solution for Care workers ‘at the Point of Care’.

When Eclipse Nursecall Systems (ENS), one of the UK’s leading providers of Care Communications, wished to develop an automated Resident Care system for the Care Home, Extra Care and Domiciliary Care market, they came to Kodit Database in St Asaph, North Wales.  Well known as experts in the provision of market-leading mobile applications (including a revolutionary method of logging cruise ship passengers in the event of an emergency), Kodit's recruited additional skilled staff in order to develop and support the new system, launched recently by ENS, branded as 'Care Buddy™'. 

Chris Parish, Director of ENS, takes up the story “Over the past 20 years ENS has become recognised and respected for the provision of cutting edge, robust and integrated Care Communications.  We deal directly with many of the UK’s leading Care Organisations and many of these express a requirement for a mobile, touch-screen device that can record all elements of each visit including carers name, duration of visit, the care delivered and a simple method of staff to record additional duties or significant comments.   We wanted a system which would not only provide immediate resident/service user data in a dynamic, on-the-spot fashion, but would also synchronize automatically with the resident’s Care Plan database.  We have therefore created a comprehensive, dynamic, electronic Care Plan with clearly assessed residents needs/requirements and outcome monitoring. 

Our solution will log any significant changes/topics which were raised during visits by care staff, and provide billable data at regular intervals.   

Shared consciousness of real-time care notes is essential if care workers are to keep abreast of the changing health stages of their service users.  Care Buddy™ offers a simple-to-use, secure, web-hosted solution for this service.
