Marketing Campaign for NHS eProcurement


Kodit UDI Solutions Limited has a strong ambition to accelerate its growth and for this reason is working with Sci-Tech Daresbury as a partner in the Liverpool City Region – New Markets 2 Programme which is part funded through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). This programme will part fund the work requested below and hence accelerate the impact arising for Kodit UDI Solutions Limited.

Kodit are a software company which makes compliance software aimed at companies who need to be UDI (Unique Device Identification) compliant with the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), NHS and EU. As part of this we are also a PEPPOL (Pan-European Public Procurement On-Line) Access Point provider, and have developed a label design tool that produces compliant labels. As the first country to use UDI as being regulatory was the U.S. FDA, Kodit have a partner in the U.S. who we use for our point of sale over there. Kodit are now concentrating on the NHS market in the United Kingdom. As well as UDI we also have a tag and label business and asset management software.

The work required is for a marketing campaign and response management.


Why this work?

Kodit has successfully met the requirements of the FDA’s UDI initiative for medical device companies supplying to the U.S market by gaining knowledge of the initiative and developing software to meet those requirements. The software checks for compliant data sets and enables the user to send their data to the global database (GUDID).

With the NHS’s new e-Procurement strategy about to become mandatory for medical device companies supplying to the U.K market, Kodit has developed software to meet these requirements and a compliance service to get companies compliant.

Kodit has the skill set to assist medical device companies in getting compliant for the NHS eProcurement strategy, but lack the expertise in marketing and raising awareness of our offering. We need a marketing campaign to reach out to potential clients and have decided to enlist the help of a marketing company.



With a marketing campaign we can reach out to companies and sign them up for our UDI compliance service thereby helping us to grow and helping medical device companies navigate these complex new regulations. Our aim is to increase our revenue and raise awareness of the services we offer.



The strategic impact of the work will lead to an ongoing partnership between Kodit and medical device companies where we will be able to assist them in forthcoming NHS, EU, U.S and Canadian healthcare compliance legislation as well as offering them a PEPPOL access point to comply with new legislation for e-transactions. We feel PEPPOL (Pan European Public Procurement On-Line) is an even bigger market than initial ongoing compliance and we want to attract as many companies as possible to use us as an access point. We feel, the best way to attract PEPPOL users is through our initial compliance service, and the best way to attract clients to our compliance service is through a marketing campaign.


Specification for Quotation

The requirement will consist of a written A4 size letter to the Officers of UK based medical device companies.

The marketing company will also evaluate the responses of the campaign and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) using surveys and contact management CRM.

The marketing company will also provide an initial response service both by telephone and email to arrange initial call with responders.

Evaluation Criteria

Quotations will be assessed and scored on the following criteria:

Delivery timescales 20%
Cost/Value for Money 30%

Assessment of the technical and professional capability that the potential supplier has to demonstrate that it can deliver the requirement.

Can the supplier meet the timescales/deadline?

Is the price good value for money?


Scoring Methodology

4 Excellent – Proposal meets and in some places exceeds the required standard.

3 Good – Proposal meets required standard.

2 Acceptable – Proposal meets the required standard in most respects, but is lacking or inconsistent in others.

1 Poor – Proposal falls short of expected standard.

0 Unacceptable – Completely or significantly fails to meet required standard or does not provide the relevant answer.
